ABOUT TUMBLE EVENTS
Tumble Events Ltd was formed in January 2022. The idea for the business grew from conversations with coaches at tumbling competitions we’ve attended over the years. Coaches are keen to give their tumblers as many opportunities as possible, but they have noticed a real lack of events for their tumblers to get as much competition experience as they’d like.
We created Tumble Events in response to that need. We are here to help your Club Level 1 and up gymnasts get that much-needed competition experience by running more tumble events around England.
Not content to only run more events for your gymnasts to participate in, we have also worked hard to improve the entire spectator experience. Spectators can now book their tickets, watch live scores come in, look at their child’s past scores, and find future tumble events online in one place. We use Tscore Competition software to score all events, and have integrated the software with our website to power live score streams. Tscore Competition was originally written for UK trampolining competitions and has been enhanced to include Tumble, DMT and both Women’s and Men’s Artistic. It is widely used in the UK and the USA at regional and national competitions.
MEET THE TEAM
Felicity Candler–O’Donnell
Hi I’m Felicity. I have been involved in gymnastics for more years than I care to reveal. I founded and am the club manager of MK Springers Gymnastics, based in Milton Keynes. I always loved gymnastics and I was very pleased when both of my children showed an interest and a flair for it. The dynamics, speed, and skill of tumbling hooked me in. I still do not understand how it has not been chosen as an Olympic sport, but as a tumbler you still have the opportunity to become a European or World Champion. I believe that every tumbler, no matter what level, should have the opportunity to be recognised and achieve the highest accolade they can, and I co-founded Tumble Events to create these opportunities. I love competition days, seeing all the fantastic coaches, watching the tumblers go down the track and particularly the friendly atmosphere.
I am the Competition Organiser for Tumble Events, working with clubs near and far to arrange competitions throughout the year. On the day of an event my main role is to act as Marshall on one of the tracks, which involves making sure tumblers are in the correct order and that the competition flows.
Gerry O’Donnell
Hi I’m Gerry, married to Felicity, and like her I have also been wedded to gymnastics for most of my adult life. My background in finance and spreadsheets has usually resulted in me looking after the scoring at competitions.
When I was shown the Tscore competition software I immediately recognised that this presents a golden opportunity to provide up-to-date real time information to both spectators and coaches. It also promises to improve the judging experience, allowing judges to use tablets to input scores into a central database, with results being instantly posted online for everyone to see. I look forward to working closely with the clubs and team from Tscore to deliver an even better, more interactive experience to those involved in our events.
Paddy (Alan) Lavelle
Hi I’m Paddy and I am currently England Head Tumbling coach having previously been the head Pathway coach for GB. I am an International Performance coach, a Brevet Tumbling Judge (20 years), and have coached 17+ World, European and British champions. I have served on the National Technical committee representing tumbling for 20 + years, was a National competition organiser for 3 years, and a coach education lead tutor for 20 + years.
